In summer, one can enjoy every form of exercise from a leisurely stroll through the village to hiking the world-famous Long Trail. The renowned five-mile Recreation Path meanders beside the West Branch River, starting at the center of the village and continuing past The Riverside Inn toward the mountain. It is the perfect setting for jogging, bike riding, rollerblading or walking. To get an idea of where we are located along the recreation path click here to take a look at the map. |
For fun on or in the water, one can go swimming at any of several nearby pools or in one of the river's swimming holes. To entertain your children, visit the water park at Smugglers Notch, and to treat yourself, spend a day at one of Stowe's world-class spa facilities. Alternatively, if you would prefer to stay dry but still be near the water, spend a day fly-fishing the Little River or canoeing on the Waterbury reservoir.
During
autumn, Stowe is rightly called a natural wonder of the US. The
pristine alpine ranges stand in spectacular contrast with maple
leaves blazing in hues of scarlet, crimson and gold. Memories of
such natural beauty will stay with you forever. |
